This is a single session of 90x60s frames, using my Canon T5 camera on my SkyWatcher BlackDiamond 150/750 telescope, and stacked using Deep Sky Stacker with darks, dark flats, flats and bias frames. No dithering. Post-processing was done using Pixinsight. This picture was taken in Madrid, Spain, on April, 2017.
Even if I was really excited of being able to see some of the details of this galaxy, I was quite disappointed with the end result and didn't even publish it at the moment.
Three years later, I decided to retry this object. In this case, I stacked 340x60s frames from 4 sessions using Pixinsight. All frames were taken with my Canon T5 camera on my SkyWatcher BlackDiamond 150/750 telescope, along with darks, dark flats, flats and bias frames. Manual dithering was done every 5 frames. Post-Processing was also done using Pixinsight, including 2X Drizzle to increase resolution. This pictures were taken in Santa Pola, Alicante, Spain, between May 16th and May 21th, 2020.
I really like the results here. It is even possible to see more distant galaxies in the same frame. However, I still feel that I can do it better. However, I think my data and the stacking process cannot be improved too much, unless I upgrade my equipment. There is also room for improvement in the post-processing steps.
